Grecian Bronze Fall In Love | Travis & Shavonia

Updated: Sep 11, 2021

The joining of husband and wife is indeed sacred, for marriage is honourable. Each time we get to be part of this ceremony, we take great delight by providing unsurpassed wedding stationery.

We first met our Bride, Shavonia, in 2017 for her sister, Lakeithra's, winter nuptials.

What a splendid celebration that was! We were grateful to have the pleasure of working with this lovely family again, this time creating Shavonia’s Grecian bronze theme wedding - a new year’s dream.

Although the pandemic was at the forefront of everyone’s mind, it did not put a damper on the very tight-knit planning process. We knew that we had to work quickly in making Shavonia’s dream a reality.

With a broad selection of invitation designs at our store on Jerome Avenue, Shavonia immediately fell in love with the scroll style invitation.

However, she requested that we turn its sophistication up a notch to reflect a Grecian theme. We love a challenge and were happy to indulge!

The invitation was exquisite. A beauty that enthralled us all, this invitation was definitely one to behold.

Guests received a bronze shimmery satin encasement box with a rich satin bow tied elegantly around it. We fastened a card to it that was personalized with guest names, completing the gallant presentation for a royal event to come.

The smooth satin tube was opened with a gentle twist, revealing an inner bronze metal scroll container. There was also a bronze monetary gift envelope and protocol instructions card that resembled a bookmark in the satin tube.

And of course, would it be a proper 2021 wedding without protocol guideline cards?! This card was imperative in reassuring guests of the safety measures for an enjoyable celebration, and we love making them!

Onward to the main attraction - the metallic bronze container. When the well-fastened top was unlocked, a bronze scroll disclosed the details for an auspicious occasion - fit for royalty.

The scroll was indeed divine. Bronze in colour with gold text, it was exceptional. Per Shavonia’s request, we affixed tassels to the invitation, which jingled joyfully when in use. What a fabulous way to heighten the invitee’s experience.

The presentation was stellar! A beautiful bronze ensemble, setting the tone for the couple’s perfect day.

In no time, the couple’s wedding date arrived. Island House came alive as the day was filled with opulence and refinement in an intimate setting.

Guests were greeted with a welcome sign created by Template. It asked guests to unplug and immerse themselves comfortably and safely.

Shavonia was stunning - a Grecian Goddess in her own right. Her bridal court created a sea of bronze around her in their princess-like glory.

Her Groom, Travis, was quite dapper himself, along with his gents standing in support of the union.

As guests entered the ceremony, they gleefully placed their gifts of love in the golden beaded monetary chest. Then proceeded to sign the golden hearts that were placed in a keepsake frame.

Both items are available at Template.

As the ceremony commenced, guests received tea-length programs that served as their guide to a well-planned wedding.

This program featured the couple’s custom Grecian monogram on the cover. It was also embellished with a tassel, which perfectly matched their theme.

Starring on the first page of the program was the couple’s engagement photo printed on translucent vellum.

Shavonia and Travis well-orchestrated their photo session that suggested a passionate courtship. The couple had so many beautiful images that an additional one was captured at the back of the program.

Island House served as the gorgeous backdrop for this intimate and private wedding. Truly an incredible spot for nuptials.

The Bride’s mother, Ginger, and her grandfather entered the ceremony. The Groom’s mother was also escorted in. Both women looking stunning! The day is even lovelier when family take part in the processional.

After the Bridal Party entered, the Bride and her proud father, Keith Knowles, walked down the aisle and honourably presented Shavonia to her king.

Like many grooms, Travis was so touched that he shed a few tears in gratitude for the long-awaited day that he would finally marry his queen.

Faithfully sacred vows were rendered as the couple was blessed and united. They embraced their first kiss as a union

Onward to a picturesque reception by Beyond The Decor. Ingrid Major and her team did an outstanding job! The setting was captivating and invited you to fall in love all over again. The celebration became even more joyous with outstanding décor, well coordinating in the colour scheme of gold, ivory, white and bronze.

Then the lovely couple had their first dance.

They cut the whimsical cake and shared their first of many more to come.

Before the celebration ended, the couple had one last treat for their guests.

Shavonia and Travis gave guests special mirri gold treat boxes filled with chocolates as parting gifts. We at Template take special care in preparing these delightful favours. They are typically collected from us a day before the wedding to ensure maximum freshness. A stress-free idea that brides and grooms always appreciate and takes the worry out of gift-giving. We can also deliver the favours on the day and set them on the table if need be.

Despite all the ups and downs with lockdowns, curfews and changes, Shavonia and Travis persevered and had a wedding that was truly beautiful and memorable! We wish this couple, whose strong agape love is admirable, a continued love that will last forever like those of Grecian times.
